Name: Kirsi Olsson
Age: 18
Date of Birth: July 7
Birthplace: Brava Region, Melies City
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual
Trainer Class: Battler
Face Claim: Fate/Grand Order - Mashu Kyrielight
Appearance:
Height: (how tall is your character? Preferably in feet and inches)
Distinguishing Features:
-She is naturally nearsighted. Because of this, she never wears her glasses when cooking, as she feels no need.
-She's quite a bit more developed than her heavy clothing implies.
Personality: It's easy to assume that Kirsi has very little drive. For someone who comes from a family of Pokemon trainers dating back generations, many of whom are former gym leaders or better...Kirsi doesn't care too much about it. While she enjoys being with and occasionally even battling with Pokemon, she has very little ambition in that arena. She sees Pokemon battles as fun and nothing else - when presented with the suggestion of challenging gyms, tournaments, and so on, she could not be more apathetic. But that's not to say she has no drive - rather, that drive is in a completely different field: culinary arts. Kirsi desires much more to be a world-class chef than a Pokemon champion, much to the displeasure of her family. They have made their displeasure known, and the resulting tensions have left Kirsi indifferent to, if not outright hostile towards, her family. At the same time, she feels obligated to follow their wishes, which puts her in a position where she pursues a path she cares nothing about.
So long as you don't mention that, though, Kirsi is easy to get along with. She has a tendency to be rather direct, but she's far from unfriendly. Though introverted, it's easy to get her talking once she's comfortable (especially if the subject is food), and she has a creative streak that occasionally pushes her to find someone to talk to just to share ideas. On a more personal note, she has a thing for older women, although she also tends not to commit to actual romantic relationships.
History: Although the Olsson family originated in a faraway region, the ones who would be Kirsi's father, grandfather, and great grandfather lived in the Brava Region most of their lives. They were trainers since such a thing existed, and became well known for gym leaders, Elite Four members, and even Champions since the onset of the earliest Pokemon Leagues. Her father was no exception - a member of the Elite Four who retired after being pressured out of the position by a sudden change in power, but who still frequents tournaments and advises gym leaders. Her mother, too, was an accomplished trainer, who made a run at the championship but ultimately did not make it all the way. So it stood to reason that Kirsi would follow in their footsteps, and possibly succeed where they failed. It stood so much to reason, that this was expected from Kirsi from the beginning.
Too bad she had no desire to do it.
Kirsi was exposed to Pokemon from an early age, receiving her Pawniard partner as a gift even before she would be old enough to set out on a journey. But the thought of following in her family's footsteps provoked nothing but apathy from her. The more she felt pressured, the more she resisted, and ultimately she refused to set out on a journey when she turned eleven. Instead, she stayed in school, developing her own interests while facing her family's disapproval at every turn. But for awhile, she continued to resist. She developed an interest in cooking, and started to discover her own dreams to work in the culinary field. But, after an injury that nearly left her father incapacitated for life, a stern reminder of his previous "fall" from Elite Four status, and repeated lectures about carrying on the family legacy, Kirsi finally caved in.
Of course, that didn't matter for much. As a trainer, Kirsi had no drive. She found that she enjoyed battles, so long as they were fun, but had no desire to achieve as a trainer. Thus, three years later, she hasn't made much progress. But, because of her perceived obligation, she hasn't given it up yet. Currently, she works as a line cook in a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Melies City, but goes out to train with her Pokemon on days off...some days more effectively than others.
Starter Pokemon:
Pawniard "Cleaver" [Swords Dance, Iron Defense, Iron Head, Night Slash]
Lotad "Dole" [Rain Dance, Giga Drain, Nature Power, Bubblebeam]
Additional Info:
-Her favorite food to eat is big game meat, although she can't stand cooking it
-On the other hand, while she loves cooking seafood dishes, she's very picky about which ones she enjoys eating.
