Name: Cameron 'Ron' Benjamin Faulkner
Age: 17
Date of Birth: 6/29
Birthplace: Lavaridge Town. Hoenn
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Trainer Class: Battler
Face Claim: Little Busters!, Masato Inohara
Appearance: Cameron would stand out in almost every crowd. Whether that spotlight is from his loud mouth or his impressive 6'3" height depends on the situation. His broad shoulders cause him to wear a size larger than his actual upper body. Complementing his impressive height, the adolescent boxer is also incredibly well built from years of training as well as his time in the ring. A feature of his he proudly shows off with his fitted clothing. Cameron's clothing is pretty standard, his usual outfit consists of a fitted, colored t-shirt under an open black jean jacket, with a pair of jeans and white sneakers to finish the ensemble.
When it comes to accessories he'll always have his lucky red bandanna under his messy black hair tied around his large forehead. In heat he loses, the jacket for his more breathable t-shirt and instead of long jeans, he'll show of his defined legs with a pair of gym shorts, along with ankle socks and his usual white running sneakers. He didn't pack anything especially made for the cold, only a simple white coat in case he gets snowed on during his travels.
Personality: Cameron is a man of action, if there is something he wants he'll put in the work to get there. No matter how daunting a task it is, to him he takes it all as a test of his strength and determination. Two traits the boxer has almost an extreme amount of pride for and there isn't a mountain tall enough or a person strong enough to give up on that. He'll find fun in doing said quests as well, after all it's almost impossible to find the large young man without his equally large grin that is almost always plastered on his face.
Cameron can find a good side to almost every situation, which is partially the reason the boy smiles just so much. The more dire the atmosphere, the more pleasure he gets out of it. Just as a child wishes to have the powers of their favorite superhero and save the day, so does Cameron. When such a crisis happens, no matter how small, Cameron would rush in to solve it just for the feeling of saving the day, even if it's for just one person.
He can tend to be a bit hot-headed, you'd think an aspiring trainer would try to be a bit more calculating or at least learn to be. Well, that isn't the case with ol' Cameron. He's a punch now, ask questions while punching type of guy and if he'd have to label his battle style, right now it would be an all out offensive. All that planning and calculation has never been, and if he can help it, never will be his style.
Cameron is a muscle head. He's spent a majority of his time developing his body and hardly ever touched a book unless it was absolutely necessary. Now, he isn't an idiot and if asked, he'd honestly tell you he scratched through his school years with Cs and Bs. When it comes to retaining that knowledge though? Well, the nice way to say it is he'll need a cram course to get up to speed with the rest of the class.
He hates it when people get the wrong idea about him. Cameron can act in ways others sometimes don't expect and naturally those actions can sometimes give off bad vibes. When confronted he'll apologize and make a joke at his expense but when people go and make rumors about him, he won't hesitate to find the source, and if they don't correct it, he has no problem setting them straight. He won't initiate a fight but he has no problems ending one.
Cameron wears his emotions on his sleeve; happy, sad, angry, whatever he's feeling at the time can plainly be seen by the expressions on his face. After bottling things up as a child, he's learned to let his emotions out freely so he can go back to being his normal, goofy self. If he has to let out a roar; or bloody his fists from punching a tree then so be it.
Naturally, he's an incredibly competitive person and when it comes to battling he's always looking for another challenge. Something the Brava region's gym leaders will no doubt provide and if he was asked, they are the opponents he's looking forward to facing the most. They are the people with weight in not only their town but their entire region. Just claiming one badge would be an accomplishment, taking all eight and competing in the Pokemon League is his goal however. A journey on it's own that will provide an endless amount of competition.
When it comes to interaction with others he doesn't pull any punches. He's an honest man, if asked what he thinks on a topic he'll let you know exactly what's on his mind. If he doesn't like a person that continually tries to interact with him, he'll let them know to buzz off. Finally, if he holds feelings for another, he has no qualms on expressing his feelings. He ins't the most eloquent person, nor does he have an impressive vocabulary, and he tends to use slang terms in his everyday speech but every word that comes from his mouth is honest. After all, it's better to tell the truth than show how much of an awful liar you are.
After being trained to fight, Cameron ins't the type to go around starting trouble with others. After all, he knows his place in society. He's a large male with a loud mouth and history in the ring. That's just a recipe for trouble, and as such his fists are solely used in the ring. He gets a large sense of pride from this as well. After all, there's no need for a champ such as himself to go wasting fight time with random people thinking they can take him down.
History: Cameron Faulkner is the youngest of four sons reared by Jennifer and Lewis Faulkner. The couple made a decent living in Lavaridge Town. Lewis owned and operated his own small gym, while Jennifer was a Per Diem Nurse at a local hospital. To say Cameron loved his parents would be an understatement; he absolutely adored the two and in his own way, tried to impress the two whenever he got the chance.
Though if he were asked, “Who is the most influential person in your life?” he’d quickly answer his three older brothers. The three were his elder by a modest 7 years and when he was growing up, the boys were basically attached at the hip. Cameron idolized them, and was always trying to find ways to be with them. When they went out with their friends, he’d try to sneak out with them. When they were playing their games, he’d try to be the fourth player and when the brothers competed with one another, Cameron would always try to sneak his way into the same competition.
As he and his brothers started to age, he became agitated. His brothers were starting to grow up and stop doing what they used to, and just as he got old enough to understand exactly what they were doing years prior. They were high school kids now, and were always studying, so being the annoying little brother he was. Cameron would always find ways to agitate them and fight with them. Sure they still had their moments when they would all get together and do something but it wasn’t like how he was when Cameron was young.
He was especially annoyed when he began getting the same teachers that taught his brothers. Cameron wasn’t as gifted as they were when it came to academics. It seemed like he had to work harder for what naturally came to them, and the various teachers didn’t waste a second to point that out. Of course, when this rage reached its peak, he went to go fight his brothers and unceremoniously they accepted. The results of these fights were always the same, an utter defeat, him once again being uncomfortably intimate with the floor. He began to question what the point of fighting these pillars was, while his father had decided that Cameron needed an outlet of some kind before he did serious damage to others or himself and introduced the raging youth to boxing.
Boxing was his way out; no one was a better boxer in the family than him. He was well-versed in pugilism and it showed in the ring. His body began to develop, and as he continued aging it became more apparent. He was proud of it, it was his own. Sadly, his grudge against his brothers was still there, and the fights continued on but no matter what a 3v1 fight would always end in the latter’s failure. The cause of these fights were always the same “they were bigger than him” he would shout. Not in the literal sense but in a different way. Their names carried weight; weight he knew he’d never carry around the suburban town. He wasn’t studious, he wasn’t the one winning national science fairs, and he wasn’t the one trying to become a lawyer. He was Cameron the family’s best puncher, and just knowing that’s all he would ever be made him a lot more sad than angry, but he had to mask it for his own sake.
As time went on it was painfully obvious their youngest son needed time away from everyone. Time to grow in a way only a Pokemon journey can provide. Now Cameron didn't have a lot of interaction with Pokemon. Public education in Lavaridge provided the basics but that was all, and when it came to interacting with Pokemon? Well there were Machop, and Machoke at the gym and his mom had a pet Delcatty and that was pretty much it. Nevertheless Cameron was ecstatic to accept the proposal. He saw this as the way to prove himself. To prove that he can be just as accomplished as his older brothers.
Needless to say his parents were excited to see their son leaving their nest. There was no doubt in their mind this was the best thing for him.
