Personality: It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that Morgan lives in a world completely different from our own. At times, she seems perfectly grounded in reality. She can carry on normal conversations, although she does so better with more intelligent people, and can be very knowlegeable about real world subjects and issues, even having strong opinions about many of them. She can be quite talkative as well, although she's also an introvert and often needs time to herself to recover. But at the same time, her beliefs do not always match up with reality. Though the existence of ghosts, mythical Pokemon, and god-like Pokemon can be argued and even possibly proven, Morgan also believes in genuine fairies and angels. She believes that many of the more mysterious and magical aspects of the world are hidden just out of sight, as though shrouded in mist. One of the many reasons she set up her gym in the otherworldly depths of Meall Canyon was in hopes of finding them eventually.
She's abnormal in more ways than her beliefs, too. She gets sick easily, often in ways that are very difficult to explain. And most medication tends to have the opposite of the desired effect on her. When tracing it back to initial tests on said medication, it can usually be found that her reaction matches up with those of outliers excluded from the results of the studies. Her metabolism is incredibly high, not only allowing her to eat a lot but almost requiring it for her to have much energy in a day. She picks up on new ideas and concepts fast, and despite having no more formal education than the average person, has at least passing knowledge in a wide variety of fields. Where she excels best, though, is with people. She forms opinions on people after a few minutes of talking to them - whether they're overall good or bad, whether or not they can be trusted, whether or not they're hiding something, and similar impressions. Thus far, these impressions have been remarkably accurate, to the point that her family and friends have wondered if it was a psychic ability.
Somewhat more normally, she has a fondness for dressing up and cosplay. She has a wide variety of outfits, both at home and at her gym, and is usually wearing one of them when she meets challengers. Which one is usually decided on a whim, or whatever "feels right." She has a more serious and focused side to her as well, but isn't fully conscious of when it comes out.
History: Morgan was born as Morgan Siofra Sloan in Meall Canyon Village, late in the spring at the beginning of the rainy season. Everything seemed normal, until five months after she was born. Then, one night after her parents went to bed, she inexplicably went missing. Though they searched all over the house, they could not find her. The next day, they reported the disappearance to the local police, but when they returned home, Morgan was right back in her crib where she had been before vanishing. Neither her parents, nor the police, nor anyone else could explain it, aside from the eventual explanation that they had managed to overlook her in a half-awake state. But after that, she started to show signs of unusual behavior.
They would be isolated cases at first, mostly abnormal reactions to medications and difficulty paying attention, but as she started to get older, it became more noticeable that Morgan was not an ordinary person. She never quite managed to get along with other kids, finding herself unable to relate to and communicate with them, but could carry on conversations with adults just fine. And while it was normal for children to play make-believe, Morgan maintained strong beliefs that things like magic and angels were real, even as most children grew out of that. She was sick frequently, compounding the continuing issues with medication not working the way it should.
After nine years of this, her parents eventually took Morgan to a psychiatrist for an evaluation. While the psychiatrist initially suspected that she might be on the autism spectrum, the symptoms were not pronounced enough to diagnose her. Eventually he concluded that while she was certainly not "average" there was nothing seriously wrong with her. She was a gifted child, as she had begun proving in classes over the last year, but had no diagnosable disorders or disabilities.
Like many children, she became a trainer at the age of 11, starting her journey with an unusual Vulpix from a far-away tropical region. The two bonded immediately, and set off from the lab in Boole City for a journey across the Brava Region. She discovered a fondness for fairy Pokemon, owing in part to her belief in real fairies, and built her team almost entirely out of fairies. While she never challenged the Pokemon League, she made a name herself defeating several gyms over the next few years. But then, after awhile, she lost interest entirely in battling. Exploration and discovery captured her imagination before, and she found herself drawn to the sprawling Fengari Ruins, the towering Corona Peaks, and the depths of Meall Canyon.
For several more years, that was almost all she did. While she would still visit Pokemon Centers when necessary, most of her time was spent away from civilization. She would 'resurface' occasionally, spending several days in the larger cities of the north of the region. During this time, she frequented conventions, mostly favoring their paranormal and fantasy tracks but also discovering a fondness for cosplay. But then, just as soon, she'd disappear again, off into the wilderness to explore again. But it was during these times when she resurfaced that Morgan began to demonstrate her 'gifts'. She proved extremely intelligent for someone who spent so much time off the grid, and able to pick up new concepts quickly. She proved good at 'reading' people as well, and much more talkative in general than would have been expected of her, although she still preferred talking with more mature and intelligent people than herself.
Her passion for Pokemon battling was reignited several years later, when she challenged a gym again on a whim and was pushed to her limits by the leader, one Miranda Altair. After that, she re-entered the battling scene, getting the idea to create her own gym, and soon after passed the test to become one of the region's Gym Leaders. Despite officially belonging to Meall Canyon Village, Morgan set up her gym on the floor of the canyon itself, where she could continue her exploration and search for the supernatural, while still regularly accepting challengers. Besides, the otherworldly, mist-covered atmosphere of the canyon depths just 'felt right' for a Fairy Gym. She kept in contact with Miranda since then as well, soon growing very close to her and eventually taking her hand in marriage.
