I am not throwing away my shot! I am not throwing away my shot! Hey yo, I’m just like my country. I’m young, scrappy and hungry. And I’m not throwing away my shot! "Go! Blizzard!" Enya called out, pointing at a wooden mannequin. Tank's head lowered, and the little pig-like Pokemon charged at the dummy, unleashing a swirling flurry of snow at the red target painted on the dummy's chest. The mannequin doubled over backwards until the attack subsided, rebounding and righting itself moments later. But the target on its chest had been damaged. Not quite obliterated like Enya would have preferred, but Tank definitely hit his mark. "Great!" she praised as Tank returned to her, pouncing forward on his stubby legs. Enya knelt and gave her Pokemon a reassuring pat on the head before quickly standing up again. "Good job, but we're not done yet." The pair moved on to another training area. Here, the targets fought back, launching small clay spheres at attackers. This was where their training was really needed. Enya had mostly neglected Tank's defensive abilities, choosing instead to focus on the brute strength of his attacks. It was her typical strategy, but Tank needed more. She was failing both herself and him by not rounding out his abilities. "Alright, let's do this. Hit them with an Earthquake!" Enya commanded as Tank took his place in the middle of the training field. Suddenly, the ground around him began to rumble and suddenly cracked open wide, causing some of the targets to fall in. But this attack also brought the others to life, and they began hurling balls at the Swinub. He cried out when the first fall hit him, managed to dodge the second, but was suddenly overwhelmed by the sheer onslaught of attacks. Enya watched the assault, wanting to intervene on her partner's behalf, but knowing that she couldn't. "Tank, use Endure!" she said quickly. Her Pokemon didn't move, but as the machines continued their attacks, a thin red aura began to appear across Tank's hide. The attack continued, but Tank tolerated the attack, refusing to back down. After what felt like an eternity of endless weaponry, the targets ran out of orbs. Tank still stood among them, bruised and breathing heavily, but ready for a rebuttal. Earthquake," Enya said calmly, a smirk on her face. The ground beneath her Swinub ruptured again, sending all of the targets falling into the earth. Enya walked across the ruined earth, scooping Tank up in her arms and cradling him gently. The little pig was exhausted, but seemed pleased with himself. "You did great, buddy," the trainer praised, walking away from the area. They would get a nice meal and return when Tank recovered. But Enya couldn't have been happier with his progress.
