Boole City was certainly a technophile's dream land and this was no more evident than in the business district. The automatic sidewalks that ferried the city's citizenry around were only one of the many impressive displays that the city put on regularly. Nearly every store had a clear tube that housed an impressively detailed and themed 3D hologram that greeted customers. Massive electronic displays were lined above the streets, each screen displaying a different advertisement. Even the outdoor cafe that Elaine was sitting at for lunch had a touch screen menu built into the tables. No matter where one looked, it was clear that the city was a step above the others when it came to its technology. The young woman's head rested casually in her hand as she gently stirred her coffee. Since she had already ordered her food, she had allowed her eyes to wander blankly to the advertisements playing across the street. Her attention, however, was lost in her own thoughts. The training she had earlier done with her Cubone had gotten her thinking about her impending journey. She had been a student in a Kalosian academy only a week-and-a-half ago. Now she was sitting down for lunch in a completely foreign region as she prepared for an adventure that she was certainly not entirely prepared for. I guess it was pretty impulsive... she thought to herself with a small smile. It wasn't that she regretted her decision to flee to her tyrant mother. In fact, she was incredibly happy to be given this chance. If it hadn't been for her father sneaking her onto the ferry to Brava, she would have been back working under the unbelievably strict schedule and expectations of her maternal parent back in Castelia. Still, the speed at which her escape and arrival in Brava unraveled had left her a little aimless. Well, a lot aimless. Unfamiliar with the region as she was, she wasn't sure what or where to pick as a goal or destination. The young trainer's eyes eventually lowered back to her table as she took a sip of her bitter drink. Thoughts of the possibilities ahead of her engulfed her mind like a whirlpool. She had never really had the liberty to choose her own path before now. The most she had even been allowed to choose for herself was which extra classes to take at the academy. Brava had gyms of course, but the thought of battling in front of a crowd for the gyms and the league was a bit off putting for the novice and withdrawn girl. Contests weren't exactly her thing either. She was much more interested in battling and traveling than putting on performances for a panel of judges and an audience. A quiet sigh was allowed to escape. The amount of options she suddenly had in front of her was certainly daunting. The more she thought about it, the more it made her head spin. At least she didn't have someone other than herself breathing down her neck to make a decision this time... | 513 words Open notes ----- ------- ------- |
