Personality:
Miranda Altair is actually rather like the Pokemon that acts as the "Ace" of her team. Miranda is both friendly and sweet, yet fearsome like a Dragonite. It's quite rare to find anything except a smile upon her face and a cheery attitude. Under this exterior though, one had better believe she isn't just a happy go lucky fool. Though positive and optimistic, Miranda has a love for competition and enjoys having challenging opponents. The Gym Leader is also quite self-confident and is capable of a fearsome intensity the more she gets into a battle.
Aside from her profession as a Gym Leader, Miranda also takes her work as a Pokemon Doctor quite seriously. Happy to help in any way, she cares for each and every patient that comes her way, no matter what ails them or who their trainer is. Even before she's a Gym Leader, Miranda puts her work as a Doctor foremost. She's not beyond cancelling a gym battle if an emergency comes up that she feels she needs to attend to instead.
History:
Miranda Altair has quite the storied history among her peers. Born to a pretty average pair of blue collar workers in early Boole City, Miranda's parents were hard working and loving to their daughter. While a pretty average kid for the most part, Miranda began to really show her natural talents come high school. Having not necessarily been interested in Pokemon before hand, Miranda was a girl devoted to her studies and also began to adopt an odd hobby of fencing that she took to quite well. Her ambition began to grow as she grew older and it was around then that her interest in Pokemon did peak. A friend's pokemon had been quite hurt from a wild Pokemon attacking the would-be Trainer. Acting fast, Miranda began taking care of the Pokemon, assisting in the recovery before they managed to get to a Pokemon Center and get it proper aid. This was the day her life changed.
From that moment forward, Miranda developed a desire to assist Pokemon and become a Doctor like the Nurse and other workers at the Pokemon Centers that aided trainers and even wild Pokemon alike. Having had no real direction before, Miranda threw herself entirely into her pursuits, even adopting an abused Dratini that had been abandoned by its trainer. After a time, the grad student even began to grow a bit of favoritism towards the Flying-type in general, loving the way they soared free through the skies. Through her own tender affections, the Dratini that she'd taken in grew from its base form into a majestic Dragonair and then a cute, but mighty Dragonite. Eager to help its trainer feel the joys of being able to fly through the skies, her first experience with flying came upon the back of her draconic partner.
After eventually graduating with her own Doctorate, Miranda moved to the developing Caellum "Sky Town". Both because she enjoyed the aesthetic that it presented, but also because she was eager to get ahead of the curve when it came to the advancement of medicine for Pokemon. Luckily for her the local Pokemon Center was also hiring. And as a matter of interest, it seemed that the Sky Town was due to gain its own Pokemon Gym as per the declaration of the League. Taking up the challenge on a whim with her Dragonite, Miranda took a brief sojourn to acquire even more Flying-type Pokemon, gaining their trust before forging her team into a force worthy of the title of "Gym Leader". Through trial and tribulation, Miranda Altair came out on top and was named the Gym Leader of Caellum in addition to her role as a Doctor at the Pokemon Center. Many figured by this point she'd have to abandon one post or the other, but Miranda defied the odds and found a nice balance of time for both her jobs.
While her job as a Gym Leader would lead to many fine challengers, the finest was a green-haired woman named Morgan. An aspiring Fairy-type specialist that would later dream of founding a Fairy-type Gym in the Meall Canyon after their battles. Miranda bested her in their first fight, but after Morgan beat her in their second one, the blonde-haired Doctor wanted to get to know the other woman better. Though Morgan was quite an odd one, Miranda couldn't help but find herself charmed by Morgan's eccentricities. What started as a friendship quickly developed into a romance and eventually into marriage shortly after Morgan had achieved her goal of a Fairy-type Gym that had been approved by the League.
Today Miranda is quite the successful woman, leading a rich and fulfilling life.
